Favorite place to eat and what did you have? Casa Cone Wednesday evening parties (Bradley's amazing fish!) ! Povlora (best pizza and pistachio ice cream), Baja Bites (yum tacos), Kite Planet (sashimi and caper fish), Nomada for breakfast- Also La Tuna (tuna cake)
Favorite activity in La Ventana? We are not kiters but loved doing sunrise yoga+meditation, early swimming and walk along the ocean around 8-10am, snorkelling at Suenos, hanging out in the beach hot springs in LV. Bike rides in the Cordon forest are beautiful too. And so is the hike to Punta Gorda. We also did a trip to La Paz for a boat trip to swim with whale sharks, sea lions and see Balandra Beach. It was fantastic.
Any comments for others? Casa Cone is a magical harmonious and vibrant place which is hard to describe! One feels deeply connected with the desert (which is very alive), can take space to spend time with themselves, and also meet fantastic people (both guests and local community). Make sure you attend the epic Wednesday evening party and don't miss the opportunity to meditate in the dome with Matt!
Our time there was life changing!

Favorite place to eat and what did you have? Wednesday night dinner parties at CasaCone! Also Hamachi tacos and Jamaica at Baja bites. Favorite activity in La Ventana? Exploring the area. Especially nature, from Aquas Calientes and the Punta Gorda Trails to the Cardone forest and the lighthouse beaches. Also, I love the artwork and the ambience (and the food!) at the Polvora restaurant. Any comments for others? Enjoy! For me, this was a really valuable retreat from my everyday routines and winter in the PNW. Inspired by what Matt has created(!), as I am on a similar path. |

One thing LV has shown me time and time again. You may not have the trip you were expecting, but will certainly have the experience you need.

Coffee & sunrise on the roof every morning was a beautiful ritual. It was completely different each day and those views never get old. It truly is a magical spot and as much as we loved getting out and exploring it was equally as enjoyable hanging out at CasaCone with lovely people. It's a vibe. The hot springs are totally worth checking out, as is the Punta Gorda trail. Much gratitude to Matt & the fam & the extended fam for creating and holding this space for all to enjoy!!

Favorite place to eat and what did you have? The Dorado recipe that Sue prepped for the Wednesday eve potluck was the best fish ever. The fish tacos at Centre De Trenes at the GranSueno out at the Bahia de Los Muertos was quite good as well (along with the snorkeling). Favorite activity in La Ventana? Probably one of the funnest fishing days I’ve ever had out with Lalo’s past the Lighthouse and southeast along the coast. Honestly couldn’t reel in (and release) anymore fish! Any comments for others? The time spent with Matt was very healing and rejuvenating. Definitely plan to get out and enjoy the amazing cactus forest bike trails |

Oh wow so much to share! First off, much gratitude to Matt and others who have pulled La Casa Cone together! This past week had the restorative power of a vacation, the joy of community, and the thrill of learning kiteboarding. I loved a morning routine heading to the bakery for a croissant and espresso at Vitoria's Silvestre coffee and gallery (opens at 7 AM). Peter at Elevation kiteboarding was a great beginner instructor for me. Their gear was in good shape. After kiting on the restorative front, I enjoyed soaks in the sun-warmed pool on the rooftop, watching the kites bob and weave above the trees, while the birds surrounded on the cardóns. Trail runs and rides in the forest south of town and along the dirt roads to the cueva reef formation and arroyo were good afternoon shake-outs. In the early evening, shared dinners at the house or nearby were joyous. Matt brings together a warm community. Stargazing and conversation by the gas fire on the roof brings the day to an early close for a restful sleep for tomorrow. Finally, at least one morning, recommend waking up an hour or more before sunrise to bring a blanket and pillows to the rooftop to watch the colors unfold across the southern sky. There's so much to do but no need to plan. Go with the flow and contribute to the great vibe. Can't wait to return. Thank you, Matt!

Favorite place to eat and what did you have? I will be dreaming of the shrimp tacos from Baja Bites for the rest of my days. The Bajanero sauce might just be the best condiment known to mankind.
Favorite activity in La Ventana? The hot springs and the massage spot.
Any comments for others? La Ventana might just be the best place on earth. Also be sure to take a day and drive to Balandra and Tecolote beaches, the water is clear and the Margaritas are strong.

Favorite place to eat and what did you have? La Tuna---the Tuna Tower. Fresh tuna, mango, avocado. I still daydream about it. If you love fresh seafood, La Ventana is the place for you.
Favorite activity in La Ventana?
Wing foiling, as humbling as it is. Nothing beats a downwinder from La Tuna to Baja Joe's. The water is warm and a perfect shade of blue. Second favorite activity is biking in the Cardon forest. The trails were not intimidating, but just challenging enough to keep you on your toes (no one wants a run-in with a giant cactus). Cruising around on the ATVs was also a treat.
Any comments for others?
There's so much to do in and around LV. Matt was an excellent host and helped us make the most of our time. On a low wind day I would recommend a day trip to El Triunfo for lunch. Gorgeous little village.

Favorite place to eat and what did you have? The COOKIES at Namastaste; everything at La Tuna
Favorite activity in La Ventana? The downwinder from La Tuna to Baja Joes is about as good as kiteboarding can get, what a dream. Beautiful water colors, great wind, and high levels of stoke. Have a beer and go back out for more! I also really enjoyed the natural hot springs pools - incredible and extremely unique natural feature. The snorkeling right out from the springs was stunning. I love ATVs as the primary form of transportation.

Wake up for sunrise, the desert is magical. Thank you, Matt, for the unparalleled generosity on all fronts!!

Favorite place to eat and what did you have? the covered spot on the left near the entrance to bajajoe's was great breakfast value... marlin azul was the best food -- and the baja grill was a fun vibe
Favorite activity in La Ventana? loved the variety of activities... sunrise meditation w/Matt, sandy MTB singletrack / trail running in the AM... afternoon kiting & paragliding...
Any comments for others? what a great spot! lots of easily accessible activities mentioned above plus SUP & hiking. when we were there in January 2022 Casacone was still under construction -- the rooms were finished and comfortable... i liked the cardon cactuses and desert vibe so much i ended up chatting with the very helpful Jason Newell about local real estate. can't wait to see the place once the hot tub and bar area ("Baja Matt's") are finished. this is an ideal spot to spend some time in the Dec-Apr months for windsports / working remote... and La Ventana is conducive to vanlife. i didn't get to surf on this trip but there're year-round quality waves within 90 min. don't drive in the soft sand portion of the casacone "driveway" as it's quite easy to get stuck w/2WD :) thank you Matt & Taylor!

What was your favorite place to eat and what did you have to eat there? La Tuna - everything was good. Especially the appetizer named El Sargento Toastada. Also the cookies from Namataste.
What was your favorite activity in La Ventana I did 4 days of kite boarding lessons with Elevation. Brand spanking new. It was challenging and, at times, humbling, but I came away feeling like I made measurable progress and really want to get back on the water for more.
Any other comments? We had a rental car. It was nice, but you can do without if CasaCone has ATV's available. The action is in La Ventana. Also the mountain biking is really fun.

What was your favorite place to eat and what did you have to eat there?
What was your favorite place to eat and what did you have to eat there?
- Baja Bites, all the tacos & that garlic oil!!
- Roof deck day dreaming and ATV’s. Though I imagine Kite surfing will top that.
- I love the polarity of the desert and the ocean, early bed times, hot sun with a cool wind and the diverse mix of laid back people that have found their way to this unique and understated place.

What was your favorite place to eat and what did you have to eat there?
What was your favorite place to eat and what did you have to eat there?
- Taco night at Playa Central
- SUP and bike ride through Cardon forest
- What a great location. 2 minute walk to the beach and Chillochil for food and Pina Coladas. Hopping on the bike and riding through the Cardon forest, right from the CasaCone. It was an honor to meet the Original Yoda Monk, from the book:“ Relax, nothing is under control“, by Matt Cone. Loved the beach walk, in the morning, to Baja Joe‘s, for the best coffee ever. Renting a SUP there and paddle around with my furry sidekick, Eddie. He made tons of friends and figured out the ocean water is not for drinking and leaning up agains Mexican trees 🌵, while peeing, is a bad idea. Haha The generously provided ATV‘s on site, were an easy way to get around. Just don’t park them in deep soft sand. 🙈All in all… this was vacation provided everything I needed. A reminder that all is working out perfectly, the way it is. Even if Covid decides to join you on your vacation. PCR tests are super easy to get.. just call them and they‘ll come to Casa Cone.Shuttle from and to airport (i flew into Cabo) was reliable, safe and punctual. Easy. To my surprise, surf was happening right in front of Casa Cone‘s beach break, in the mornings. So don’t forget to bring your board. Around 11 am the wind picks up (6 out of 7 days a week) and everyone switches to kitesurfing or starts siesta.Sunsets from the bluff by the house were pretty and from the two rooms on the top, you can watch the sunrise, in your pajamas. I could go on…. but bottom line is: CasaCone is the place to be. Matt is awesome and so is CasaCone. Only downfall is… you won‘t want to go home and miss the place (plus Matt) once you leave. 😉 Muchas gracias for everything! „I‘ll be back!“

- Sweatlodge on full moon, and visiting Casa Chocolate
- Thank you for welcoming and being an amazing host as always, Matt! I came simply to visit you and do some kiteboarding, instead I did zero kiteboarding but discovered the flowy magic of La Ventana, and rested well at CasaCone. So grateful for CasaCone and excited for her meditation dome, kitchen and rooftop completion!

What was your favorite place to eat and what did you have to eat there?
- Marlin Azul was yummy with big portions and close by. There was also another great spot (don't know the name) turn right towards Baja Joe's from main road & park immediately, and it's directly on the left in the small white building with tables outside
- Bike ride through the cactus and the hot springs at the beach - super cool gotta do that!
- Such an awesome visit - thank you Matt for being an epic host! I can't wait to come back and explore more EWOP! xoxo Alyssa

What was your favorite activity in La Ventana? Learning to kite with Elevation, cactus trails, hanging out with awesome people, ridge soaring, ATV tow-rope towing
Comments: A magical place. Between days with the sea, sun and wind, the occasional moonlight bike ride through cactuses and ridge soaring days - and of course the amazing people (both local and visiting) - La Ventana is a very special part of planet earth.Would recommend watching the sun rise & set from the rooftop (not hard to catch both with the 9pm Baja midnight), and also checking out Azul Cerralvo Foundation if the chance arises. Thank you all (and Matt!) and for such a wonderful time. Looking forward to seeing the Casa when it is complete

What was your favorite place to eat and what did you have to eat there? Baja Bites - the smoked marlin taco was fantastic. The shrimp quesadilla at Hotel Trains in Suenos was also delicious, although it is quite a trek to get out there!
What was your favorite activity in La Ventana Tied between biking through the Cardon Forest and riding the ATV's down the beach to Suenos for lunch (and then winning Monopoly Deal so Dylan and Matt picked up the lunch tab!)
Comments: Matt is a really generous host, and although I was bummed for him that he had no wind for kite boarding, I was excited that he was available to take me on so many adventures in just two short days! The Cone family is creating a beautiful place that feels welcoming, and it is just going to get more beautiful. I particularly am excited to return so that I can enjoy the rooftop hot tub someday!! I meditated with the sunrise both mornings on the balcony off my room, it was so peaceful. Thank you Matt for a lovely couple days, you're the best!
